Echoes of Art
In my final year at Falmouth University, I developed a project that defined my personal direction as a photographer. The work draws inspiration from classical paintings, using them as a starting point rather than a reference to be replicated.
Instead of recreating the original artworks, the focus was on reinterpretation. Themes, mood, and visual language were translated into a contemporary editorial style, allowing historical influence to sit alongside modern styling and imagery.
Alongside this, I studied the techniques of influential photographers, focusing on lighting, composition, set design, and character. This process helped refine my technical approach and strengthen my ability to build atmosphere within a frame.
The resulting collection brings these influences together into a cohesive body of work. Each image reflects a balance between classical reference and personal interpretation, marking both creative development and the foundation of my visual identity.
