Luxuries of the forbidden table (2024)

Inspired by the opulence of Marie Antoinette’s era and the phrase “Let them eat cake,” this photoshoot explores the contrast between extreme wealth and social restriction. The concept focuses on excess, using food as a symbol of privilege and the reality that such luxury was inaccessible to most people.

Set within a highly styled environment, the scene features an overwhelming display of pastries, fruit, and rich desserts, far more than one person could need. Despite the abundance, the subject is not free to indulge openly. The only way she can access the food is by stealing it.

This idea is revealed through the aftermath: a chaotic mess left behind after she secretly eats, suggesting urgency, excitement, and risk. Her playful expressions and sideways glances capture the thrill of doing something forbidden, turning indulgence into an act of quiet rebellion.
