Reclaimed Beauty (2024)

The second part of the Ophelia series focuses on the final chapter of her story, referencing her submerged body in the river. This shoot reinterprets that moment by presenting her as being slowly reclaimed by the natural world.

Reflective materials are used to suggest the surface of the water, creating a soft, shimmering effect that reinforces the feeling of submersion. Plants wrap around the subject’s hands and legs, symbolising nature’s quiet hold. Moss and organic textures are applied to the body, showing the gradual merging of her form with the environment.

Rather than dramatizing the moment, the imagery remains restrained and considered. The scene acknowledges loss while also suggesting renewal, allowing beauty and stillness to exist alongside the weight of the narrative.
